i’ve been super busy preparing for my upcoming craft show in october and wanted to have a little ‘down’ time relaxing — playing with watercolors…so decided to make a few cards.
i practiced with my kuretake watercolors (and I must say, they’re really enjoyable to use!!!)…such vibrant intense colors! the process is very simple and straightforward. i stamped leaf images (ctmh – autumn splendor #d1181–retired) using stampin’ up! crumb cake ink (second generation) very lightly and then watercolored in the outline, using various colors of the lucious kuretake’s, then did most of the shading with my favorite payne’s grey inktense pencil, finally sketching a very faint outline using a fine tip brown pitt pen. finished it off with a stamped sentiment in brown pigment ink and heat embossed it. i used fabriano watercolor paper for everything (my favorite for watercolor cards!)
i find watercoloring in this way so relaxing, such an enjoyable process :)
as always if you have any questions or comments please leave them below…and thanks so much for stopping by :)
