lil’ fish rocker

today, this is just a quickie post… my life from now until february will be on fast forward (LOL) due to my very hectic work schedule  ;)

but a few weeks ago, i was again selling my things at another craft fair in delray beach, florida. i had a such a fantastic time meeting all the other lovely artists and seeing how organized they were getting things set up and ready for customers!

as you may have read in an earlier post, back in august (while i was on the longest garage sale) i purchased this sweet little child’s rocking chair. it needed a teeny bit of repairing…and some TLC.

keeping with my shabby chic beach cottage style…i painted a sweet little cartoon fish…using all the usual suspects — annie sloan chalk paint in duck egg blue (with a dry brushing of old white) i distressed it pretty heavily, because i liked the way it was turning out. i quickly sketched a fish outline  on the seat back in white pastel chalk until I was happy with the outline. Then I watercolored it using inktense pencils.

it was such a fun piece to work on and i’m very pleased to report that a lovely family bought and took it home with them!

it’s nice to know that it will have a new life being loved by someone special…i’m so grateful!!!
